Millet porridge with banana and cinnamon

Sometimes, there is nothing better in the morning than a warm bowl of porridge to wake yourself up. My new favourite porridge is millet porridge. Millet is a much underestimated seed that is packed with important nutrients and delicious. Millet have a very high B- vitamin content, impressive starch levels and high content of calcium, iron, potassium, zinc & magnesium. Millet is also gluten free and good for sensitive stomachs. Millet porridge have a gentle and good taste. The banana makes the porridge naturally sweet, so no sweeter is necessary. This porridge is creamy and luscious and I love to top it with kiwi fruit and raspberries.

  1. This is really interesting, I may have to try this out. I absolutely love porridge and oats, but in porridge form, or raw in smoothies (which I really like) they just don’t settle well in my stomach and if I have too much they just make me feel ill. I’ve never heard of millet seeds, but I’d be interested to see how they agree with me, especially since you’ve said they’re good on sensitive stomachs. 🙂

    1. Hey! 🙂 I would definitely recommend it, it has a really nice taste. Millet is considered low fodmap, which means it should be good for sensitive stomachs 🙂 Although, people might react to it differently. For the porridge I would recommend using millet flakes 🙂 I hope you like it! 🙂

      1. Thanks! I’ve already had a look online and think I will pop down to our local Holland & Barrett first thing tomorrow to source some millet flakes. I’m sure I’ll do a post on them if they turn out as well as I hope 🙂
